Cooltech Power | Joint Venture Plant Celebrates Milestone of 1,000th Unit Roll-Off

On January 11th, the 50/50 joint venture factory established by Cooltech Power and Rolls-Royce Power Systems successfully celebrated the roll-off of its 1,000th unit. This key moment marks a major success for the joint venture project and lays a solid foundation for future cooperation.
Rolls-Royce Power Systems, part of the Rolls-Royce Group, is a renowned engine manufacturer with a long history and a diverse product portfolio widely used in marine, rail, oil & gas, mining, infrastructure, and power generation applications. Cooltech Power and Rolls-Royce Power Systems have enjoyed a partnership spanning many years, having selected over 1,500 MTU engines for diesel generator sets by the end of May 2023.
In August 2020, building on their strong cooperative relationship and to rapidly respond to market demands while further strengthening their market position, Cooltech Power and Rolls-Royce Power Systems decided to jointly establish a factory in Shanghai. After initial setup, the joint venture plant officially commenced operations in mid-2021. In just two and a half years, the joint venture has not only achieved the production milestone of 1,000 localized MTU units, demonstrating exceptional production efficiency and technological innovation capabilities, but has also actively advanced the localization strategy for MTU generator sets.
The event celebrating the 1,000th unit roll-off attracted numerous guests, including members of the joint venture's Board of Directors and employees, teams from Cooltech Power and Rolls-Royce Power Systems, as well as representatives from key OEM customers of Rolls-Royce Power Systems in China.
